- Living a Christian life is a daily walk with Jesus:
Our daily walk with Jesus is so absolutely relevant because it is our
witness and preaching to the world that is so filled with sinfulness.
This includes our character as depicted in our behavior, for our behavior is the world's Bible and sermon: "..... you are a letter from Christ......written not with ink but with the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts " (2 Corinthians 3:2-3). Our spiritual endeavor is to PLEASE GOD and to BLESS MANKIND, not
the vice versa. To Walk is initially a matter of considering every
little step, and afterwards it becomes the habit of the soul, since all
Faith starts from a tiny little mustard seed.
- We at first started the first step of our Daily Walk by receiving Jesus into our hearts by Faith.
Jesus entered through the open door and became our Lord and Master. In
the same manner we must live always and everywhere, receiving from Him,
by faith, grace upon grace, and allowing what He works in to work out
in all manner of godliness, tenderness, and Christlikeness. This
practice of looking to Jesus for grace in every circumstance of life
tends to become more and more habitual--and this is what the Apostle
means when he says, "Rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith."
- But such a walk is only possible when we have learned to "crucify the flesh with the affections and lusts" (Galatians 5:24). But we must understand this that the flesh is the assurance and initiator of our self-centeredness or self-life, whether in lesser or grosser forms, but whenever our self (flesh) intrudes it exercises a baleful influence on our behavior and conversation. The intrusion of our flesh will deflect our character and walk thus deviating us from the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- How can we crucify the flesh? Yes we can only control our flesh by allowing the Holy Spirit to have supreme and complete control in our lives. As the Holy Spirit is our comforter that dwells in us at present which makes the Cross every day dearer and more effective. He will conquer evil habits in us and for us, while we stand by as more than conquerors through His grace. If we will be led by Him, there will not only be deliverance from the self-life, greed, self-centeredness, but He will produce in us the fruit of holy living which will PLEASE God and refresh and BLESS men.
We pray that you let Your Holy Spirit continually dwells in us, and may we feel the impact and powerful effects of you Divine Grace constantly guiding and assisting us in our every steps to know you more and more. Thank You Jesus. Amen
