TIME IS SHORT

The Bible is Yahweh's Word. Dating back to the creation of the world it provides mankind with the only infallible record of history relevant to salvation. Here is a brief chronological record in A.M. (anno mundi) years, the year of the world. Let the reader prayerfully consider the awesome conclusion to which this article arrives - that the Saviour's return is near and that Time is Short.

Genesis 11:32 : Abraham was the youngest son of Terah who died in Haran aged 205, in year 2083. (1878+205 = 2083)
In Gen.12:4 we learn that at that time Abraham was 75 years old. In other words Abraham was born when his father Terah was 130 years old. (205-75 = 130) Therefore Abraham was born in year 2008, which is Terah's birth year. (1878+130 = 2008)

Scripture and secular sources agree that Solomon's Temple was completed in about 1000 BC: which, as we have already shown, was in A.M. 3000. Another 1000 years brings us to the Saviour's birth in about A.M. 4000. In the 17th century Archbishop Ussher of Armagh calculated that the creation occurred in 4004 BC. A wall chart based on his dates up to the present day is published by Studio Editions Ltd. 50 Eastcastle St, London WIN 7AP. (ISBN 85170 149 4) J. B. Dimbleby, astronomer, historian and author of the book All Time Past, along with other historians, differs by a few years from Ussher's creation date.
Dimbleby calculated that the creation occurred in 3996 BC. Either way we reach an astonishing conclusion, that according to Scripture the creation of this world took place about 4000 BC, which is just under 6000 years ago! By Ussher's count we are about 1 year from year 6000. (4004+1995 = 5999) By Dimbleby's count we are 9 years from year 6000. (3996+1995 = 5991)
And that dear reader brings us to an important question.

Why is the Year 6000 so Important?

The answer is: because the Almighty, as far as humanity's allocated period of time is concerned, could well be working to His Sabbatical Principle, in which every sixth period of time is followed by a seventh period of rest - a Sabbath. In other words the coming millennium (by the Biblical count) could well be the start of Yahweh's Sabbath Rest when the kingdoms of this world will be taken over by the Kingdom of God. Of course, no one except the Father knows the exact year of the Saviour's return, (Matthew 24: 36) when the millennium will begin. We are certainly not attempting to set that date. Too many preachers have tried it, only to be proved wrong. What we are saying is this: IF in the matter of mankind's allocated period of time, the Almighty is working to His Sabbatical Principle, and it is our opinion that He is, then the coming millennial reign, the Sabbath Rest of God, could well begin within the next two decades. Also bear in mind that to save the human race from extinction, that time is to be cut short:

Matthew 24:

22: “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved; but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.”

Other prophecies indicate that before the millennium begins, that is before the Saviour returns, there will be about a seven year period during which the Antichrist will appear on the world scene. This means: that if we are about a decade from the start of the millennium, then we are only about 3 years - and possibly less - away from the start of that last 7 year period!
Yes, that is how urgent the situation is. These are sobering considerations we dare not brush aside. Instead, we do well to mentally, spiritually and physically prepare for the prophesied calamities scheduled to burst upon humanity within the very near future.
